THINGS TO PROTECT YOUR ARTWORK FROM?

1. Direct sunlight

Should be avoided, may cause fading of colors.

2.Heat and dirt

If the painting is under constant heat exposure, over time the paint overdries and aging processes accelerate. In some cases, heat might soften the painting surface causing the dust to stick to it permanently. Artwork should not be hung above a fireplace, especially if it’s not varnished.

3. Humidity

Too much humidity weakens the paint/canvas adhesion and paint might start to fall off. In case of mold forming it might affect painting color.

DO I NEED TO FRAME MY PAINTINGS?

Is frame really necessary?

It depends on a painting and interior where the artwork will be placed. If the painting is painted on a canvas and its edges are neatly painted, its totally ok to keep it without a frame.  If you've decided to frame your artwork, please keep in mind that a frame should be tuned to the painting not the interior of the place where it will be hanging. Frame should be an extension of the painting or complement it.
